Hi! I’m Annie.
I’m a certified teacher with twelve years of experience in General Education, Special Education, and English as a Second Language. I’ve worked with learners across the lifespan-from primary school to adult ages, and I’m passionate about creating learning environments where neurodiverse students feel safe, understood, and supported.
My work is grounded in connection, trust, and honoring each learner’s sensory needs, communication style, and personal strengths. I believe that when a child feels seen and respected, learning becomes not just possible, but joyful and exciting.
My Values and Philosophy
My work is grounded in connection, trust, and respect for each learner’s unique strengths, sensory needs, and communication style.
I value collaboration with families, clear communication, and creating learning experiences that honor the whole child. These values guide every part of my work — from in‑home neurodiversity‑affirming education to family collaboration and school communication support.
I approach learning through a neurodiversity‑affirming lens, recognizing that students thrive when instruction is accessible, responsive, and rooted in relationship. I prioritize emotional safety, learner autonomy, and assent, ensuring that each student feels empowered to engage at their own pace. This philosophy shapes everything I do — from executive function coaching to creating sensory‑aware learning routines at home.
How I Work with Learners
I support students in their home environment, where they feel most regulated and authentic. I observe how they communicate, how their nervous system responds to the environment, and what helps them feel grounded.
From there, I adapt instruction to their strengths, interests, and sensory profile. Learning becomes flexible, relational, and accessible — never forced or compliance‑based. Learner assent is paramount to my educational practice.
I also partner closely with families to build routines, reduce stress, and create sustainable learning structures that fit real life.
